I know its honestly a minor issue, but its always been a stupid pet peeve for me. I just want a way to remove the icon from my shortcuts, preferably choosing what shortcuts I want this overlay removed from. Do you know if the shield image is an ico file that can be replaced with a transparent ico file? I understand why Windows puts it there, and I don't want to disable UAC. I am looking for a way to remove the shield image without removing UAC function. ![]() The elevated shortcuts solution removes the shield icon, and also removes the UAC function on the subject program.
